Recently, farmers in Germany staged massive protests demanding the government to drop plans to reduce agricultural subsidies.

The convoy accompanied by dozens of farmers' trucks caused large-scale traffic disruptions in several parts of the country.

Last Sunday, hundreds of farmers arrived in Berlin ahead of demonstrations against plans to cut subsidies by the government, with a convoy of trucks arriving in Brandenburg in the evening and lighting candles in protest at 11pm.

The farmers demonstrated against the German government's proposal under Chancellor Olaf Scholz to cut agricultural subsidies.

The ruling unity government is now the result of a coalition between Scholz's Social Democrats (SPD), the Greens and the neoliberal Free Democrats (FDP).

Previously, the government announced plans to cut some subsidies and caused dissatisfaction by the German Farmers' Association (DBV).

A spokesman for the German Interior Ministry warned of the actions of opposition groups trying to stir up issues in the protests for their own benefit.

Finance Minister Christian Lindner urged farmers to reconsider their actions while mentioning subsidies as a major topic.

A coalition of conservative opposition and independent voters were also important groups in the protest.

Worryingly, traffic jams are expected to occur in various parts of the country, especially in the city center areas throughout this week.

Authorities in the northern city of Hamburg warned of possible traffic chaos during a protest by farmers from the state of Schleswig-Holstein in the city.
