Unbeknownst to Jupiter, DeFi aggregator Solana (SOL) is about to launch a memecoin called WEN on Friday today via launchpad* which comes from the DeFi protocol or non-fungible token (NFT) Ovols.
*Platforms or services that help new crypto projects launch their initial coin offerings (ICOs) or token sales.
The founder of Jupiter called Meow recently wrote a poem "A Love Letter to Wen Bros" in the X platform, then minted as NFT through a new token standard dubbed as Wen New Standard (WNS).
Immediately after minting, the NFT will be split into 1 trillion WEN tokens and 70% of the supply will be distributed evenly across over a million eligible SOL wallets.
There is no denying that its origin is about to be broken, but the official website says that WEN will trade like a normal SOL token.
According to Meow further, the wallet list includes Jupiter users who have been active for the past six months, Solana Saga smartphone owners and NFT holders from Ovols as well as some top NFT collections.
The Wen Foundation led by the Ovols NFT community is a group dedicated to giving back to the entire SOL community by supporting the development of public goods and further amplifying the message of what can only be done in SOL.
Conducted ahead of the JUP token drop set for January 31, 2024, the WEN airdrop is billed as a launchpad where nearly a million wallets are eligible for the airdrop followed by the recent famous SOL airdrops of Jito and Pyth.
