The group of giant economic countries of the world, BRICS which is now trying to overcome the USD is getting more and more complete when some other countries volunteer to cooperate.
According to the TASS report, the news agency said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said the BRICS countries are developing a payment platform without using the US dollar.
The initiative was raised during the summit of the BRICS countries in Johannesburg 2023 where the main members such as Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa called for more trade of foreign countries dealing with their national currencies.
Lavrov said that the platform will improve the international monetary system and allow payments in the respective national currencies.
Russia is currently in the process of moving its trading partners away from the dollar as they face massive sanctions by the US. However, the platform is still immature and limited to certain countries only.
Earlier, Russian President Putin redoubled his call to stop the use of the US dollar and other 'toxic' currencies.
The new BRICS payment system comes in the form of a digital currency system that allows central banks to deal with local currency transactions directly.
However, the too strong dominance of the US dollar currency in the world financial system has given rise to some expert views that the platform is about to collapse.
