"Hmm if the XRP ETF is approved, will the price go up or stay flat?"

Brad Garlinghouse, the Chief Executive Officer of Ripple (XRP) who revealed some of his views on the possible development of the future of cryptocurrency has predicted the spot XRP ETF will be launched by 2025.

This is because the recent spot approval of Ethereum (ETH) has given him confidence that XRP will be approved soon plus the expansion of investments in Bitcoin and ETH shows that XRP has potential.

In addition to the need to have a clear legal framework, Garlinghouse also said that crypto can only be viable if the right regulatory environment is in place while stressing the importance of regulators to change and evolve.

XRP and other prominent names in the crypto market such as Coinbase and Grayscale are advocating a more accommodative regulatory approach by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) aimed at convincing it to update the regulatory framework.

The regulatory clarity is partly driven by the legal challenges XRP is facing where it previously faced an SEC lawsuit alleging it improperly sold XRP to institutional investors.

This lawsuit underscores the complexity and uncertainty surrounding crypto regulation in the US that could impact the timing and feasibility of introducing a spot XRP ETF.

As of this writing, the price which is currently trading at $0.52 has plunged a little 0.35% in the last 24 hours with a market cap of over $29 billion then recording a 0.96% decline over the last week.
