"Hmm is the price of BTC ready to skyrocket due to the shooting incident against Trump?"
The price of the king of cryptocurrency Bitcoin (BTC) finally managed to pass $62,000 today after the reported shooting at Donald Trump's rally yesterday which led to speculation that the incident will increase his chances of winning the presidential election.
The former president of the United States (US), who has described himself as pro-crypto, said he was shot in the right ear shortly after gunfire erupted at his political rally in Pennsylvania last Saturday.
The streak, Trump's chances of re-election to the presidency once again increased plus his image showing his fist raised above his head and his bleeding right ear with the US flag flying in the background are being talked about a lot on social media.
The failed attack on Trump also caused investors to start shifting their focus to equities and other risky assets such as BTC and other digital assets exposed to the policies he has implemented.
Investors will also pay particular attention to the volatility indicators forecast for Monday, where those indicators include the tariff-sensitive Chinese yuan which is already starting to weigh on the upcoming vote in the US.
Apart from the BTC Conference which is expected to push the price higher, Trump's campaign team also revealed that he will attend the Republican National Convention from Monday.
As of this writing, the price of BTC has jumped by 5.05 to $62,526 in the last 24 hours with a market cap of $1.2 trillion and is up 13.26% over the last week.
