US technology giant Microsoft in a statement on Friday said it was taking mitigation measures after a massive service disruption.
Reports on social media X, their services are still seeing continuous improvement while implementation continues in mitigation actions.
Microsoft's notice titled "Service Degradation" says users may be unable to access various Microsoft 365 applications and services.
Airports in the US and Australia were affected with the US Federal Aviation Administration asking Frontier Airlines, which was hit hard by the outage, to temporarily halt its flights.
In addition, Malaysia was also affected when FMT reported that Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 was affected by CrowdStrike's IT technical disruption at this time.
The announcement came as Australia reported a large-scale IT system outage on Friday across the country's national broadcaster, its largest international airport and a major telecommunications company.
Australia also reports large-scale technical failures due to issues with third-party software platforms through the National Cyber Security Coordinator.
Microsoft says access is limited because some users can only access Microsoft 365 in read-only mode while they are troubleshooting issues.
Commenting further, Microsoft remains committed to dealing with this situation with the highest priority and urgency. They will continue to address the lingering effects of the degraded Microsoft 365 platform.
