Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in his statement that he plans to pledge about $45 million a month to the Super PAC group that is a supporter of former President Donald Trump for this November's election.
However, Musk did not channel those donations at the end of last June based on quarterly financial filings by the Federal Election Commission.
The super PAC formed in May has reportedly received donations from Elon Musk and several crypto billionaires.
Among them is Lonsdale who donated $1 million to America PAC through Lonsdale Enterprises which is associated with a technology investment company.
Additionally, The Winklevoss twins each donated $250,000 to the super PAC, according to the group's filing.
America PAC has brought in $8.8 million and has spent $7.8 million since its inception. An audit showed they had left just $1 million at the end of last June.
Musk, the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX and one of the richest people in the world, officially confirmed to donate funds as a sign of support for Trump on Saturday.
The decision came minutes after the Republican presidential candidate survived an assassination attempt at a campaign rally.
Elon Musk's support to help Trump defeat President Joe Biden has started since the first day of the Republican National Convention where Trump obtained enough delegates to officially become the GOP nominee.
