Recently surprised by the news regarding Nvidia which is in the process of working on the flagship version of its new Artificial Intelligence chip (US) for the Chinese market which will be compatible with the export control of the United States (US).

Nvidia in March 2024 launched the "Blackwell" series of chips that will be mass-produced at the end of this year where in this series, the B200 is 30 times faster in some tasks such as delivering answers from chatbots.

It is widely known that Nvidia will sign an agreement with one of its main distributor partners in China called Inspur for the launch and distribution of the "B20" chip which is planned to start in the second quarter of 2025.

After Washington tightens its controls on advanced semiconductor exports to China in 2023 to prevent breakthroughs in supercomputing that would help its military, Nvidia has developed three chips tailored specifically for the Chinese market.

Still, the advent of tighter US export controls has helped Chinese tech giant Huawei and startups like Tencent-backed Enflame enter the domestic market for advanced AI processors.

China accounted for 17% of Nvidia's revenue in the year to end January 2024 following the US sanctions, so here it can be seen that Nvidia may be able to sell more than 1 million H20 chips worth more than $12 billion in China this year.

It should also be noted that the US is expected to continue to put pressure on export controls related to semiconductors, where the US wants the Netherlands and Japan to further restrict chip manufacturing equipment to China.
