Donald Trump, the former President of the United States (US) who applied the cryptocurrency donation strategy finally paid off when he managed to collect more than $4 million in digital assets from $100,000 on June 24, 2024.
By observation, most contributors gave Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Ripple (XRP) and USD Coin (USDC), where over $2.15 million in BTC came from 19 donors in 12 states.
Federal Election Commission filings show those donations were also mixed and during this period, the committee collected $120 million in regular payments to the Trump campaign.
It should be noted that Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, Gemini each also contributed 15.47 BTC worth $1 million to the Trump campaign but they got the excess returned after their contributions exceeded the maximum legal limit of $844,600.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Kraken Founder Jesse Powell made a similar donation of $1 million in ETH and even took the opportunity to express his displeasure with the current US administration's approach to crypto regulation.
Please note that Chief Learning Officer (CLO) Stuart Alderoty donated $300,000 in XRP while former Messari CEO Ryan Selkis gave approximately $50,000 in USDC.
It is widely known that Trump is still scheduled to attend and speak at the upcoming BTC Conference with him also heading to Tennessee to deliver a keynote address on the crypto industry.
