Malaysia and India have upgraded their relationship from an Enhanced Strategic Partnership (ESP) to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP), marking an important step forward.


The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, in his three-day official visit to India, emphasized the long-standing relationship between the two countries since the era of Jawaharlal Nehru and Tunku Abdul Rahman.


He emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in various sectors such as digital investment, trade, education, and the military.


Anwar thanked the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, for his hospitality and emphasized that Malaysia considers India as a great and true friend.


In an honest and open discussion, the two leaders discussed various issues, including sensitive ones, reflecting true friendship.


In addition, Anwar emphasized the importance of cooperation in the semiconductor industry and stressed that Malaysia and India share many cultural similarities that go beyond trade.


In an effort to speed up progress, a period of three months has been set for immediate action on issues such as flights and visas. Anwar is confident that Malaysia and India will emerge as two strong and friendly countries in various fields in a short time.
