Elon Musk Wants to Sue Companies That Boycott X

Elon Musk's social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), is suing several major companies and the World Federation of Advertisers. (WFA).

X claims that WFA, Mars, CVS Health and Orsted , worked together under a pact to stop advertising on X, causing the platform to lose a lot of money.

X says this group of advertisers is violating US law by unfairly working together to undermine the platform.

They argue that this boycott has harmed the open exchange of ideas on the internet.

Since Musk bought X in 2022, the platform has struggled to keep advertisers, who are worried about their ads appearing next to harmful content.

An expert in antitrust law, Christine Bartholomew, mentioned that it is difficult to prove such a boycott because X must show that these companies made a clear agreement to stop advertising.

Even if X wins the lawsuit, they cannot force this company to return their ad dollars.

X wants the court to stop the cooperation between the companies and is seeking compensation for the losses they suffered.

Another company, Rumble, has also filed a similar suit against the same advertising group.
