In his statement, Anwar also reiterated Malaysia's commitment to join the BRICS alliance, which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
The conversation also opened an opportunity for both parties to explore the potential of expanding cooperation in various sectors, with a special focus on the halal industry and increasing cooperation in education.
The Republic of Tatarstan, known for its majority Muslim population, plays an important role in the Russian Federation.
The visit emphasized the importance of Malaysia's strategic partnerships with other countries and its ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with key global players.
