AWS plans to invest approximately RM29.2 billion (US$6.2 billion) in Malaysia by 2038.

This investment aims to boost Malaysia's economy, with an estimated contribution of RM57.3 billion to the country's GDP.

In addition, the project is expected to create more than 3,500 jobs annually, covering construction, engineering, telecommunications and other fields.

The newly launched region includes three availability zones, designed to improve business continuity and provide low latency for critical applications.

This infrastructure will support Malaysia's digital transformation, positioning the country as a regional hub for AI and cloud computing.

AWS's investment is in line with Malaysia's New Industrial Masterplan 2030, which aims to develop a skilled, innovative and sustainable economy.
