US Presidential candidate Donald Trump seems to be increasingly confident in delving into the world of digital assets by saying that he has plans to make the United States the world's master of cryptocurrencies.
He was seen promoting a new DeFi (decentralized finance) project called World Liberty Financial.
The project is described as a platform aimed at providing users with the best tools for safe and high value crypto investment.
Previously, he had drastically changed his stance on cryptocurrencies.
Trump had previously considered the assets to be fraud that facilitated criminal activity while assuming the office of President of the United States in 2017.
However, the 2024 Presidential election showed full support following his speech at the Bitcoin conference where he received a donation of $844,600 to participate in a roundtable session with him.
Last Tuesday, an NFT featuring an image of Donald Trump wearing a superhero costume while holding Bitcoin was launched with each item selling for $99 each.
The former president's company, CIC Digital LLC has raised US$7.2 million after the launch of the NFT and they also now hold a crypto wallet containing at least US$1 million in Ethereum.
Trump's growing support for crypto has drawn support from industry executives including venture capitalists Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz.
