The recent launch of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Asia Pacific Region (Malaysia) marks an important milestone in Malaysia's digital transformation journey.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized that AWS's contribution of RM57.3 billion to Malaysia's GDP could be realized by 2032, six years earlier than initially expected.

AWS' investment of RM29.2 billion over 15 years is set to generate more than 3,500 jobs, signaling the company's long-term commitment to the country.

The launch emphasizes Malaysia's role as a growing digital hub in the region.

Government policies, such as the Digital Economy Action Plan, aim to attract digital investment and establish the country as a leader in artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing.

The collaboration with AWS is expected to strengthen Malaysia's position as a key destination for businesses globally looking to invest in digital infrastructure.

This initiative is seen as a critical step towards Malaysia achieving the status of a high-income country and driving its leadership in the digital economy.

The accelerated progress reflects the government's efforts to accelerate technological progress and economic growth.
