Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in the United States at the weekend to present his plan to end the ongoing war with Russia, which has lasted two and a half years.
His plan named as "victory plan" aims to persuade the President of the United States (US) Joe Biden and other important figures, including Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, about the importance of supporting Ukraine's strategy.
The visit comes amid heavy fighting, with Russia advancing in eastern Ukraine and Ukraine controlling parts of Russia's Kursk region.
Zelensky's main goal is to get US approval to use long-range weapons to strike deep inside Russia, something that has not been granted so far.
He plans to present his proposal to the US Congress and other world leaders, stressing that the plan aims to create a "fair and stable peace" for Ukraine and prevent future escalation of the ongoing conflict.
Although Zelensky has invited Russia to peace talks, Moscow has refused, demanding that Ukraine hand over four of its territories.
