US stocks were flat on Tuesday following gains in the previous session, with the Dow and S&P 500 hitting new record highs.

On Monday, the Dow rose by 0.15%, the S&P 500 by 0.28%, and the Nasdaq Composite by 0.14%.

Eight of the S&P's 11 sectors closed higher, with energy and real estate leading gains.

Wall Street's positive momentum was fueled by the Federal Reserve's (Fed) recent 50 basis point interest rate cut.

Several Fed officials, including Raphael Bostic, Neel Kashkari, and Austan Goolsbee, supported rate cuts and hinted at the possibility of further cuts.

In corporate news, Intel rose 3.3% amid reports of a possible billion-dollar investment injection from Apollo Global Management.

Tesla shares also jumped 4.9%, driven by investor excitement over the upcoming launch of its robotaxi and expected third-quarter sales results.
