The Malaysian government has proposed an increase in the minimum wage to RM1,700 from RM1,500 per month to improve the living standards of workers, especially low-income earners.
This increase is in line with the government's efforts to address the issue of the rising cost of living as well as ensure that workers' wages are in line with the current needs of the economy.
This minimum wage increase is also in line with the government's target to increase the level of prosperity and quality of life of the people in the long term
