The Malaysian government has allocated as much as RM600 million in preparation for possible disasters, especially floods that often hit several states during the monsoon season.

This fund will be used to cover the cost of rescue operations, emergency assistance and rehabilitation for victims affected by natural disasters.

This provision also involves the provision of assistance such as food, temporary shelter, clothing and other basic needs for victims who are forced to move.

In addition, the government also works with disaster agencies such as NADMA (National Disaster Management Agency) as well as local authorities to ensure preparedness at the state and district levels.

This RM600 million fund is seen as a proactive step by the government in ensuring that the country is prepared to face the monsoon season and unpredictable natural disasters and reduce the negative impact on the people and the national economy.
