Former President Donald Trump is sticking to his idea of ending the income tax and replacing it with higher foreign tariffs to ease the burden on the people.
In an interview with Joe Regan on Friday, he said the move is a serious step and believes it will happen.
The purpose is to reduce goods or aliens seize jobs, factories and families in the United States unless they are willing to pay high tariffs.
Among Trump's main economic manifestos to voters is a sweeping tax overhaul that includes proposals to eliminate the income tax system and replace it with a tariff policy.
He will also consider income tax exemptions for firefighters, police officers, military personnel and veterans.
According to the Tax Foundation, cutting taxes on income, overtime and Social Security alone would cost an estimated $2 trillion over 10 years.
Trump sees his vision of an aggressive tariff policy as a way to offset those costs.
He has proposed a 20% tariff on all imports from all countries across the board with a very high rate for Chinese imports.
However, tax experts and economic analysts don't think Trump's tariffs will be enough of an offset to make up for the trillions lost from eliminating the income tax.
