The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (Miti) plans to help Perodua, one of the country's leading car manufacturers, develop the first EV priced below RM100,000 by the end of 2025.

This collaboration aims to make EVs more affordable for Malaysians, opening the door to a greener future.

Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz shared that Perodua and Miti have worked closely to achieve this goal.

In fact, the number of EV (BEV) batteries registered in Malaysia this year has already exceeded last year's total, with 16,000 new registrations so far.

To support this growing market, the government is also focusing on improving EV infrastructure.

With over 3,200 charging stations in place, the aim is to increase the number to 10,000 by 2025.

This will make EVs more accessible and convenient for drivers.

As the EV market grows, Malaysia is positioning itself as a major player in the ASEAN region, which is projected to see significant growth in the coming years.
