Malaysia is expected to receive US$14.7 billion in investment from United States (US) technology giants such as Google, Microsoft, Boeing and others, marking a significant economic boost.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced this during his meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken at the ASEAN Summit.
Anwar expressed Malaysia's enthusiasm for these investments, emphasizing their role in strengthening the country's technology sector.
This development highlights the growing economic cooperation between Malaysia and the US.
Anwar also mentioned that Malaysia will host the Senior Officials Dialogue in Putrajaya, further strengthening the partnership.
In addition, Anwar discussed international issues with Blinken, urging the US to help implement United Nations Security Council resolutions aimed at bringing peace to Gaza.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of regional stability and prosperity, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region.
