Sabah's public service is expected to receive a major financial boost, with more than RM103 million earmarked for salary increases as part of the new Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA).

Chief Minister Hajiji Noor announced that this salary increase will benefit 21,228 civil servants, reflecting the state's commitment to rewarding its workforce.

What makes this news even more extraordinary is the increase in the wages of part-time workers, who will now earn a minimum income of RM1,725 a month, affecting 2,116 individuals and involving costs of up to RM46.09 million.

The entire salary adjustment, divided into two phases starting December 1, 2024, promises not only an increase in income but also an increase in morale among state employees.

This move is in line with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's national announcement of salary increases of between 7% and 15%, based on performance.

Sabah's allocation to this program highlights the state's determination to invest in its public sector, foster loyalty and ensure better public services for its people.
