The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's (MACC) investigation into the founders of FashionValet, Datin Vivy Yusof and Datuk Fadzaruddin Shah Anuar, is now heating up with each new revelation that raises various questions.
The focus of the investigation is on suspicious money flows involving the Maple 30 company and several other parties.
The couple have given evidence over the past few days, with nine other witnesses also called to assist the investigation.
So far there has been no order for the pair to be remanded, but more than 50 boxes of their company documents are being examined to detect suspicious financial transactions from 2018 to 2023.
A total of personal and company bank accounts worth RM1.1 million belonging to the couple were frozen, and some luxury items such as handbags and watches worth RM200,000 were also confiscated.
MACC Director General, Tan Sri Azam Baki, confirmed that the investigation is focused on the possible misuse of the investment funds.
The MACC also questioned the couple's lavish lifestyle, which is often displayed on social media, and is now being investigated for being linked to the use of investment funds received.
This case raises more questions than answers.
Are public funds channeled by large national institutions now involved in the controversy of misuse of funds?
This investigation is now in the public eye, and subsequent revelations are expected to attract more attention from citizens who are waiting for justice to be done.
