Hyundai Invests RM2.16 Billion to Build First Factory in Kedah

Hyundai Motor has taken a significant step by investing RM2.16 billion to build its first car manufacturing plant in Malaysia, located in Kulim, Kedah.


This investment is the company’s largest in Malaysia and will create many job opportunities and boost the local economy.


According to the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, the plant will begin operations next year and will produce seven different car models over a five-year period.


This shows Hyundai’s commitment to contributing to the Malaysian automotive sector and the local workforce.


The announcement was made during Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s visit to South Korea.


During the trip, Anwar also engaged in closed-door discussions with Hyundai Motor and OCI Holdings to strengthen ties between Malaysia and South Korea.


It is a step forward that not only enhances economic cooperation but also signals the potential for greater partnerships in the future.


The new plant will undoubtedly boost the Malaysian car industry, attract more investments and open up space for innovation and development in Kedah.
