The United Kingdom's support for Ukraine has reportedly faded since the Labor Party took over, according to former United Kingdom Defense Secretary Ben Wallace.
In an interview with BBC Radio 4, Wallace expressed his dismay at Ukrainian officials who are now losing confidence in the UK's dwindling aid and deteriorating diplomatic relations under Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, also expressed disappointment that Starmer had not yet visited Kyiv.
In addition, the UK's promised supply of long-range missiles has also not yet arrived.
Wallace pointed out that under the Conservative Party government, the UK played a key role as the main driver of European support for Ukraine, helping to build momentum for military aid.
However, according to Wallace, the momentum is now declining.
He also emphasized that continued support to Ukraine requires consistent action, not just temporary statements or empty promises.
The change in the UK's approach to Ukraine raises concerns about the future of international support for Kyiv, especially amid global political turmoil.
