The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, is about to open the curtain with a shocking revelation about the paddy and rice cartel in the near future.
A detailed report on the cartel's activities has been completed by the Malaysian Competition Commission (MyCC) and reviewed, but the Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, Dr. Fuziah Salleh, insists that only the Prime Minister will reveal the essence officially.
With various speculations circulating, all parties are asked to be patient and wait for the official disclosure from the Prime Minister, which is expected to shake up the paddy and rice market.
Fuziah also hinted that the Madani Government is on the right track in fighting cartels, as they managed to control the price of chicken after defeating the industry cartel.
As a result, the price of chicken is now under control and does not exceed RM8 per kilogram in shops.
This revelation about the rice and paddy cartel will not only open people's eyes, but is expected to have a big impact in lowering the prices of essential goods that have been burdening people's pockets.
If this issue can be resolved, the price of rice will probably be more controlled, giving relief to the low income group.
