Malaysia's e-sports industry received an allocation of RM20 million under the 2025 Budget.

The funding is divided into two main initiatives: RM10 million to build a dedicated e-sports stadium and another RM10 million for training and content creation.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi emphasized this commitment, thanking Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the large investment.

Sarawak is already at the forefront, leading e-sports education through the Sarawak Center of Technical Excellence (Centexs).

With programs focused on technical and vocational training, Centexs provides students with specific skills for careers in the e-sports industry, including content creation tailored to Malaysian culture.

This bold step not only shows Sarawak's vision for a more advanced future in this field, but also raises the standard for other states, including Johor, to consider progress in the same field.

E-sports, once seen as niche entertainment, is growing into a dynamic sector capable of significant economic impact.

With dedicated facilities and support for content creators, Malaysia's investment is poised to boost its position in the global e-sports arena, making gaming a powerful industry for the country.
