Klang will benefit from 13 flood mitigation projects worth RM493.5 million which are aimed at solving the flooding problems that often plague the area.
Selangor Infrastructure and Agriculture Committee Chairman, Izham Hashim, announced that RM359.7 million is being funded by the federal government, while another RM133.8 million is being provided by the state government.
Among the major projects currently being implemented are the Flood Mitigation Plan (RTB) for Sungai Klang in Section 25 Shah Alam as well as Sungai Kapar Kecil and Sungai Kapar Besar.
A total of seven projects funded by the state government are currently underway, including the RTB Sungai Kandis Phase 2, RTB Sungai Rasau Phase 2, and the upgrading of the drainage system in Taman Melawis.
Meanwhile, four other projects such as the RTB in Sungai Batu Enam Sementa and drainage works in Taman Klang Utama are still in the planning stage.
With the implementation of these projects, Selangor is working hard to reduce the risk of floods that often disrupt residents' lives, while also providing better protection for the people of Klang.
