There is good news for Sarawakians!

Sarawak Premier, Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg yesterday followed in the footsteps of Sabah and Selangor by announcing a two-month bonus for state civil servants, which will be paid next month, with a total amount of RM190 million.

Federal civil servants in Sarawak will also receive a RM700 bonus, expected to be paid in the first quarter of 2025.

In an effort to provide concrete support to civil servants, the state will introduce a new monthly allowance, between RM400 and RM700 starting January, in line with the Federal Government's new salary system.

In addition, Abang Johari also announced that all Sarawak students in higher learning institutions, regardless of family income, will receive a pocket money of RM1,200 to assist with their studies.

This plan will support approximately 25,000 students, demonstrating the state of Sarawak's commitment to ensuring that its young talents can be fully polished with their studies without having to worry about financial problems.
