Malaysia's Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Tengku Zafrul, recently emphasized the importance of the United States (US) as Malaysia's main trading partner and largest investor.
Following Donald Trump's victory in the 2024 presidential election, Zafrul expressed confidence in maintaining and strengthening the strong relationship between the two countries.
He mentioned that this relationship goes beyond business to include good relations between the US and Malaysia as well as educational exchanges.
As Malaysia prepares to lead ASEAN in 2025, Zafrul expressed interest in working closely with the new US administration.
He believes that this cooperation will benefit both countries, not only through direct partnerships but also through broader regional and global efforts.
With shared values and a deep relationship, Malaysia and the US are ready to continue to build a prosperous and lasting partnership.
