The Green Electricity Tariff (GET) Program will continue in 2025 with at least 6,600 GWh of green electricity, offering premium rates as low as 10 sen/kWh for low voltage and 20 sen/kWh for medium and high voltage.
New improvements include long-term subscriptions until 2027, providing stability for corporate and industrial users.
GET 2025 customers will be exempted from ICPT charges, protecting them from fuel price fluctuations.
Subscriptions open on March 1 via myTNB, with the option to recall from January 1.
The government also continues the RM40 Electricity Rebate Program for low-income groups and ensures electricity subsidies for 6.9 million domestic consumers below 600 kWh.
The government plans to set more competitive electricity tariffs starting July 1, 2025 with a financial implication of RM3.57 billion which will be funded by the government.
With all these improvements, the government hopes that this initiative will not only save costs, but also strengthen the credibility of the program in supporting sustainability and shared well-being.
