Ningbo Deye Technology Co., a Chinese inverter manufacturer, has made plans to invest $150 million (RM667.5 million) to build a manufacturing center for solar equipment and energy storage products in Malaysia.

The move is aimed at further strengthening the company's position in the global market and adapting to the increasingly uncertain international trade environment.

By establishing a subsidiary in Malaysia, Deye hopes to further expand its presence in overseas markets and face challenges due to trade tensions and economic restrictions.

The investment is still in early planning and is awaiting approval from the Chinese and Malaysian governments.

This effort is expected to contribute to the growth of the rapidly growing renewable energy sector in Southeast Asia.
