Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has allocated RM1.4 million to assist communities affected by floods around its airports in Alor Setar, Kota Bharu, and Kuala Terengganu.
As part of this effort, MAHB has provided 1,000 modular tents for use at flood relief centres and also handed over to the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA).
In addition to financial assistance, MAHB is also working with government-linked companies (GLCs), government-linked investment companies (GLICs), and other agencies to distribute basic necessities such as hygiene kits and non-perishable food to flood victims.
Further assistance will include mattress sets and equipment to support immediate recovery efforts.
MAHB Managing Director, Datuk Mohd Izani Ghani, said the company is working closely with NADMA and other stakeholders to ensure that assistance reaches them quickly and effectively.
He stressed that MAHB’s main focus is to help build resilience among affected communities during this difficult time.
