Ipoh residents can finally breathe a sigh of relief!

The proposed assessment tax increase of between 4% to 9% has now been reduced to a more friendly rate, which is between 0.25% to 2%.

This decision was taken after the Ipoh City Council (MBI) acted to listen to the grievances of residents, property owners, and businesses through an engagement session.

Ipoh Mayor, Datuk Rumaizi Baharin, stressed that this approach was taken to ease the burden on the people while ensuring that the city's management remains sustainable.

MBI also opened up space for more complaints from the people to be heard through the Phase 2 Objection Hearing session which will begin in January 2025.

For residents who were previously worried about the implementation of this tax, this step is an action that has given great relief and a new ray of hope for the people for a better future.
