More than 150,000 people were affected by the massive floods that hit the country, but a ray of hope emerged with contributions worth over RM35 million from the private sector.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced the aid, which will ease the burden of flood victims affected by the disaster.

In addition, government-linked companies (GLCs) such as Permodalan Nasional Bhd, Petronas, and Pharmaniaga Bhd have contributed RM10 million as initial aid.

Anwar also announced an additional allocation of RM25 million each for Kelantan and Terengganu, the states worst hit by the floods.

This aid is expected to accelerate the recovery of infrastructure and the well-being of the population.

So far, the flood situation has shown signs of recovery with 63,206 victims still in evacuation centers in seven states.

The large aid received gives hope to the victims to rebuild their lives.

With the cooperation of the private sector, GLCs, and the government, a brighter future is expected for all flood victims.
