Public Bank is set to install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems worth RM14.88 million at its 135 branches, covering 333 property lots.
This effort, in collaboration with Jati Tinggi Group Bhd, is expected to help accelerate the bank’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030 and net zero emissions by 2050.
Public Bank Managing Director Tan Sri Dr. Tay Ah Lek described the project as a key pillar of the bank’s ESG strategy.
He explained that the installation is not only a step towards reducing its carbon footprint but also reflects the company’s dedication to environmental sustainability.
The project will commence in early 2025 and is expected to be completed within three years.
According to Jati Tinggi Managing Director Datuk Seri Lim Yeong Seong, this collaboration strengthens their efforts in renewable energy, opening up more opportunities in the solar sector.
