The Selangor State Government has taken steps to help Kelantan recover from the recent major floods with a contribution of RM500,000 to repair damaged infrastructure.

This proposal will be tabled in a state government meeting this week for finalisation.

Selangor Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, said this assistance is not just financial, but also manpower and equipment support to assist in the clean-up process. “The MADANI Ihsan Squad will depart for Kelantan with 130 personnel and 45 machinery including tankers and Roro lorries for a large-scale clean-up.”

The team is said to be starting operations from Tuesday to Thursday with a focus on cleaning important areas such as mosques, suraus and public infrastructure.

In addition, food baskets and essential items are also being provided for victims in need.

Meanwhile, KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) is contributing additional manpower by sending 21 personnel and five Roro lorries.

The total cost of this operation is estimated to reach RM400,000 thanks to contributions from KDEBWM and local authorities (PBT).
