Nvidia, a global leader in technology, will open an artificial intelligence (AI) research and development center in Vietnam.
The announcement came after Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang signed an agreement during his visit to Hanoi.
The move is part of the company’s efforts to strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia.
The AI center will work alongside a data center built by Viettel Group, using Nvidia’s cutting-edge technology.
Vietnam’s Minister of Investment, Nguyen Chi Dung, stressed that these projects will play a key role in advancing AI in the country.
During the ceremony, Huang stressed the importance of treating the country’s data as a valuable resource.
He encouraged Vietnam to leverage its data to build AI solutions that benefit its industry and society.
Before arriving in Vietnam, Huang met with the Prime Minister of Thailand to discuss AI cooperation.
Vietnam is aiming for significant growth in technology, including a target of $100 billion in annual revenue from the semiconductor industry by 2050.
Nvidia’s involvement is expected to strengthen Southeast Asia’s reputation as an innovation hub.
