More than 74,000 students from Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan can now smile broadly when the FLYsiswa flight subsidy is increased from RM300 to RM400 per person, starting 1 January 2025.
Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, announced this good news yesterday at the FLYsiswa Carnival at UiTM Shah Alam.
According to Anwar, this initiative is not just financial assistance, but also an opportunity for students to return to their hometowns and spend valuable time with their families without a heavy financial burden.
With an allocation of RM24 million, the government hopes that students can focus fully on their studies for a bright future.
Transport Minister, Anthony Loke, also shared that 70% of the vouchers for 2024 have been redeemed by 36,949 students.
He called on other students to redeem their vouchers before the deadline of 31 December.
Loke also stated that these vouchers can also be used to purchase tickets next year, so students are encouraged not to miss out on this opportunity.
This program reflects the government's continued efforts in supporting education and providing sustainable transportation, building a strong foundation for the future of the younger generation.
