Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim recently met with top leaders from six major global companies during the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025 in Switzerland.
The meeting, organised by the Malaysian Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), was held at the Mountain Plaza Hotel.
Anwar, who is also Malaysia’s Finance Minister, led discussions with AstraZeneca, Fortescue, DP World, Medtronics, Nestle and Google.
Each session lasted 30 minutes, focusing on increasing trade and investment opportunities between Malaysia and these companies.
His meetings began with AstraZeneca’s Chief Strategy Officer, followed by Fortescue’s Executive Chairman.
He then held discussions with DP World’s Chairman and CEO, Medtronics’ Senior Vice President, and Nestle’s Top Executive for Asia, Oceania and Africa.
His final meeting was with Google’s President and Chief Investment Officer.
This development was shared by Anwar on social media stating that these discussions are aimed at attracting more foreign investment and building stronger partnerships to boost the Malaysian economy.
