After the Federal Reserve (Fed) hinted at slowing its plan to cut interest rates, US stocks were seen falling on Thursday.

The central bank's latest meeting notes showed that most officials were concerned about rising inflation, they were also worried about upcoming changes in trade and immigration policies under the Trump administration that could worsen the situation.

On Wednesday, the Dow Jones rose 0.25%, while the S&P 500 rose 0.16% in contrast to the Nasdaq which saw a small decline of 0.06%.

The performance was influenced by the sale of $22 billion of US Treasurys that encouraged stable bonds and eased concerns about rising yields.

Investors are now looking forward to Friday's jobs report after data published in December showed slow job growth.

Private sector hiring slowed in December, and wage growth also slowed.

Meanwhile, US stock markets will be closed on January 9 to honor former President Jimmy Carter with a national day of mourning.
