The Cabinet meeting on 24 January 2025 has given a decisive verdict on the toll drama that has been the subject of debate among various parties from the government to the common people.
In conjunction with the Chinese New Year 2025, the Malaysian Government announced a 50% toll reduction for Class 1 vehicles on 27 and 28 January 2025, starting from 12.01 midnight to 11.59 pm.
This toll reduction will involve a compensation cost of RM20.08 million to the toll concessionaire.
The Minister of Works, Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, stated that this decision is a continuation of the Government's MADANI program, which also provides toll discounts in conjunction with other festive seasons.
The government hopes that users can plan their journeys well, avoid congestion, and take advantage of the MYPLUS-TTA application for travel time guidance.
With this measure, the people can enjoy a smoother journey without neglecting road safety.
