Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) achieved its highest vehicle sales and production volume in 2024, marking an 8.4% increase in sales compared to the previous year and recording its highest production to date.
The statement said Perodua recorded total vehicle sales of 358,102 units in 2024, surpassing the previous record of 330,325 units in 2023.
Total production also reached an all-time high of 368,100 vehicles, a 7.2% increase from the 343,400 units produced in 2023.
Perodua President or Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad stated that the year 2025 will bring both new challenges and opportunities along with increasingly fierce competition from new automotive brands emerging in the market.
He added that Perodua remains ready to continue its role in charting the direction of the local automotive industry.
On a quarterly basis, Perodua recorded 97,741 vehicles between October and December 2024, an increase of 0.7% compared to 97,098 units in the same period in 2023. In December alone, the company sold 32,202 vehicles, an increase of 3.2% from 31,210 units in December 2023.
In services, Perodua recorded a 9.7% increase in vehicle take-up and serviced 3.4 million vehicles in 2024 compared to 3.1 million in 2023.
