Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim embarked on a three-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), starting Sunday.
His visit is aimed at enhancing Malaysia's ties with the UAE while promoting stronger regional cooperation as Malaysia takes over the ASEAN chairmanship in 2025.
Anwar will attend the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), where he will speak on the future of ASEAN's economy and energy.
His visit follows an invitation from UAE Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Anwar will also meet with UAE leaders, such as Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai.
The discussions will focus on renewable energy, artificial intelligence (AI), food security and trade opportunities.
A key event of the visit will be the signing of the Malaysia-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which will open the door to more trade and investment.
After his visit to the UAE, Anwar will continue his journey to London, Brussels, and Davos, strengthening ties with the UK, the EU, and world economic leaders.
