Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim recently announced an allocation of over RM20 million for 63 Chinese private schools nationwide this year as a government move to show recognition of the schools.
With this amount, RM19.84 million has been channeled to 62 Chinese private schools nationwide, while RM1 million of it will support Jit Sin Chinese Secondary School.
In his speech while visiting Jit Sin Private Secondary School, Anwar stressed the government's appreciation for the contributions of these schools, especially in adapting their curriculum while maintaining national values.
This contribution is a continuing effort following the RM18.9 million allocation announced last year for the same number of schools, announced by Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
Anwar also shared fond memories, recalling his early days as a substitute Malay teacher at Jit Sin before pursuing his studies at the University of Malaya.
