A total of RM642 million has been allocated by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government to build 3,574 houses under the People's Housing Project (PPR) in Kelantan.

According to Deputy Minister Datuk Aiman Athirah Sabu, a total of 3,268 houses have been completed, with 306 still under construction.

This allocation shows the government's commitment to meeting the increasing demand for low-cost housing through the provision of PPR.

This was stated during a press conference where offer letters were handed over to the initial group of Gual Ipoh PPR recipients.

A total of 104 recipients in the Gual Ipoh PPR are involved in phase 1, the PPR project includes 400 single-storey cluster houses, including four units adapted for individuals with special needs.

Covering an area of 15.47 hectares, each house being built is estimated to cost over RM80,000 and will be completed by April 2021.

Those selected will receive their keys on February 13 and more people are expected to receive their offer letters soon.

The housing project uses a rent-to-own (RTO) plan, which helps low-income families by allowing them to pay for their homes over time rather than all at once.
