Kedah continues to record extraordinary success when it achieved revenue collection of more than RM700 million in 2024, exceeding the target by 102%.
Kedah Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, stated that the achievement was very proud considering that Kedah is not considered a "dear" state in Malaysia.
Through his speech during the Civil Servants' Assembly at Wisma Darul Aman, he expressed his gratitude to the state government machinery led by the State Secretary, Datuk Seri Norizan Khazali, as well as all agencies involved in achieving this success.
Sanusi also stressed that this achievement was achieved without the assistance of Federal Government funds, making it a great and special success.
Looking ahead, he expressed his confidence that Kedah could achieve revenue collection of RM1 billion by 2028, with a focus on new sources such as rare earth element (REE) mining and carbon credits.
Sanusi hopes that the full support of civil servants will continue to promote the state's economic growth for the well-being of the people of Kedah.
