Shein, a popular online fashion platform, has announced that it will no longer allow cotton from China in its products sold in the United States (US).

The company requires its suppliers to use cotton from approved countries such as Australia, Brazil, India and the US.

At the same time, cotton from parts of Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia is also accepted.

The ban is Shein's attempt to comply with the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, a law that aims to block goods made with forced labor in China from entering the US market.

The US has accused the company of using cotton from regions linked to the use of forced labor.

However, the company denies the accusations.

The company says that cotton suppliers must adhere to strict guidelines in all countries where they operate.
