TikTok has resumed operations in the United States (US) after a brief shutdown due to a law aimed at banning the app on Sunday.
The company thanked President Donald Trump for helping restore its service.
Although the Biden administration said it would not enforce the ban, Trump acted to ensure that the app continues to operate in the US.
The shutdown came as TikTok's Chinese owner, ByteDance, was pressured to sell its US operations to a company not affiliated with China.
With millions of users expected to be affected by the shutdown, Trump issued an order to delay the ban, giving more time to reach an agreement.
Trump suggested that the US should own 50% of TikTok, arguing that its value could increase significantly.
TikTok quickly resumed operations, reassuring American users.
However, a stay on the app ban is allowed if there is any progress on the sale, but ByteDance has rejected any sale.
ByteDance is expected to face similar restrictions in the future if they still do not have any agreement regarding the sale of the TikTok app.
